Beneath the Pink Sunshine.

The Start of My Holy Week

I’ll never forget how kilig AJ made me felt when he started appearing on TV. Although my fondness of him changed through the years, mainly because I realized that he is as old as my younger brother. Nevertheless, I am emotionally stirred after reading Diane’s Facebook status a couple of minutes ago.

While typing the subject “aj perez” pictures of him appeared, but as I was halfway typing the last word, “dead”, part of me was wishing that Google won’t confirm my friend’s status. I was thinking, perhaps Yhanie has a friend that goes with the same name. Then again, after hitting Enter came the sad news. The young star has indeed left us.

I feel bad for the guy. This is a very sad news that manifests how fragile our lives are. I’m currently reading The Lovely Bones and it also talks about expiration. I guess no matter how often we talk about it, no matter how many people from our lives are taken away from us, we could never be immune. Losing people who’ve touched our lives be it in a small or huge way would always makes us sad and sometimes even bring us into tears.

Then again, if we believe in Him, we all know that all good things has to come to an end. Thus the start of a greater story awaits us.

Today’s Palm Sunday which marks the start of the Holy Week. I love this season not only because it’s holiday but because it is the only time of the year that let’s us experience solemnity. Be it on the streets or on TV, somehow Holy Week is taken seriously in order to help us reflect.

Today, I dare you to recollect and refresh your lives. :)

Let’s not wait for the end of the world. Let’s make a move and be gifts to our neighbors.
